Awful Food: On The Lunch Tray

The plastic (or melamine) lunch tray was introduced to schools and hospitals in the early 1950s. They were tough, durable and would last for years. They were available in green, yellow, blue and buff colors. Eventually, these trays were replaced by paper trays over concerns that melamine was produced by harmful processes.

Now, considering the food that was served on these trays in schools and hospitals, how could you really be concerned about the supposed harmful processes that were used to make your tray?

From this …

… to this? Mercy, mercy, mercy.

Awful Food: Liver & Bacon Tropic Style

Follow the sun with a Golden Circle Breakfast!

Liver & Bacon Tropic Style … a meal you’ll never forget.

Liver 'n Bacon Tropic Style

Take one 15 ounce can of Golden Circle Pineapple Pieces and enough liver and bacon rashers for all servings. Trim the bacon and fry until lightly crisp. Remove from pan and keep warm. Have the liver cut in half-inch thick strips and rolled in seasoned flour. Cook in bacon drippings in pan.

While you arrange liver and bacon on warmed serving plates, allow the drained pineapples pieces to brown slightly in the frying pan. Spoon on plates and serve immediately. Yum, yum!

We’re sure yours will look better. Bon Appétit!
