The Playboy Town House 1962

The May 1962 issue of Playboy magazine contained their posh plans for exciting urban living – a  three level Playboy Town House.

Playboy Townhouse 1

This modern town house was billed as a “modishly swinging manor for the modern man.”

Playboy Townhouse 2

Designed in 1962 by architect/designer R. Donald Jaye, he intended for his design to appeal to the “unattached, affluent young man happily wedded to the infinite advantages of urbia.”

The posh interior design included lots of teak and everything was to be controlled remotely.

Playboy Townhouse 3

The design includes a three story atrium which houses a central pool, and massive rock walls.

Playboy Townhouse 4

“Playboy has taken a city lot in a typical brownstone neighborhood and transformed it from street to stern into a modishly swinging manor for the modern man.”

Playboy Townhouse 5

That’s a huge 24″ television screen. Controlled remotely of course. The bed spins around too. But, you knew that, right?
