Digitally Signed Art & Content Authenticity for My Work

I’m excited to share a major update for all the visual art and photography on my website: every piece is now digitally signed by me as its creator and recorded with the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI), along with detailed provenance metadata. This means that when you view my artwork, you can trust that it is truly mine and that its creative journey is transparently documented. [eh]

What is the Content Authenticity Initiative?
The Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) is a global effort led by organizations like Adobe, the New York Times, and many others to bring transparency and trust to digital content. It provides a framework for attaching secure metadata—information about an asset’s origin, authorship, and editing history—directly to images, videos, and other media.

This creates an authenticated digital fingerprint for every piece of work.

With CAI, digital assets include a Content Credentials badge. When someone clicks this, they can see details like:
• Who created the work.
• When it was created.
• How it may have been edited.
• Verification that the content hasn’t been altered maliciously.

How It Works
When I publish new artwork or photography, I embed metadata that includes my digital signature, timestamps, and other provenance information. This information is securely recorded and can be verified through CAI’s Content Credentials system. Anyone can check these credentials to confirm the work’s authenticity and see its creative lineage.

Why This Matters in an AI-Driven World
As AI tools become more powerful, the line between original art and synthetic content can quickly blur. For artists and creators, this raises important questions about ownership, credibility, and protecting our work.
