A Letter To A Young Lady On December 7, 1941
On December 7, 1941 a father (my grandfather) wrote a letter to his young daughter (my mother).
It is a very sweet note to a pretty young lady. This letter was given to her on the morning of December 7, 1941 – before the attack on Pearl Harbor began.
December 7, 1941
Be good, sweet maid, and
let who will be clever,
Do noble things, don’t dream
them all day long.
And so make life; death,
and that vast forever,
One grand sweet song.
