The Human Fountain
Meet Mortado … The Human Fountain
He was a real person from Germany that first exhibited himself in 1929. He had bored holes through both his hands and feet. When seated in a “special” chair, tubes were inserted through the holes.

Tubes inserted, high-pressure water was then pumped through the tubes making Mortado a “human fountain.” When not working, he simply plugged the holes with corks to keep them from completely healing. Now you know. Thanks for visiting!
