The Queen Of Technicolor

There is a little known Hollywood starlet named Maria Montez (1912 – 1951) who was Dominican-born and gained her fame and popularity during 1940s as an exotic Latin beauty.

Maria starred in a series of high-budget Technicolor adventure films which involved lots and lots of costumes. She projected an image on screen of a hot-blooded Latin seductress. Maria was dressed in very fancy costumes and very sparkling jewels in all of her epic adventure movies.

Maria Montez became so identified with these epic adventure films that she became known as “The Queen of Technicolor.” Over her career, Maria Montez appeared in a total of 26 films.

Her very exotic beauty was the centerpiece of all her films. Maria also was a noted author and a published poet. Here’s to the Queen of the Technicolor movies!
