The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is an American fraternal order and social club founded in 1868. It is one of the leading fraternal orders in the U.S., claiming nearly one million members. This organization is commonly referred to as BPOE, the Elks Lodge or just The Elks.

Elks Lodge No. 946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma is located at 5333 South Harvard Avenue. The lodge has owned the land at this address for many decades; however, it is unclear what year the Tulsa Elks were founded due to a lack of available history on their BPOE Lodge website or other web listings.

Above is Elks Lodge No. 946 in approximately 1960. The image was scanned from a Kodachrome slide. It was a very unusual structure on what was then the outskirts of Tulsa, Oklahoma. It had a circular lobby/central office area and a very unique domed space under which parties, events and lodge meetings were held.
