Not To Scale

Scale – the ratio of the length in a drawing to the length of the real thing. Sometimes the role of the artist is not to depict what is real but to use scale as a mode of articulation in the generation of conceptual or theoretical explorations. This condition is referred to as “not to scale.”

“I decided that if I could paint that flower in a huge scale, you could not ignore its beauty.”
