When a camera accompanies you almost anywhere you go, scenes like this will present themselves. While waiting for a lunch order, I saw the number 12 in plastic.
This observation is in deference to Charles Demuth’s 1928 painting “The Figure 5 In Gold.” Demuth explained that this art work was inspired by a poem written by William Carlos Williams in which it is written, “I saw the Figure 5 in gold …”
