Real Googly Eyes!

My Leica Q3 was set for a wide aperture and a slow shutter speed and it captured some real googly eyes! The googly cat is Mowgli, our House Panther.

Googly Eyes Explained

What are Googly Eyes?

Googly eyes are small, plastic eyes that are designed to be attached to various objects to give them a whimsical, animated appearance. They typically have a clear outer casing and a black pupil that moves freely inside, providing a playful look.

History and Origins

Googly eyes were first produced in the 20th century and have since become a staple in arts and crafts. Their simple yet effective design contributed to their popularity, making them a go-to choice for artists, educators, and anyone looking to add a bit of fun to an object.

Why Use Googly Eyes?

The appeal of googly eyes lies in their ability to elicit smiles and laughter. They can anthropomorphize inanimate objects, making them relatable and engaging. Whether in a classroom, at home, or during a crafting session, googly eyes can spark creativity and joy.
