Seagrape Tree

This is a seagrape tree (or, baygrape tree) on the west coast of Jamaica near the town of Negril. The tree is native to coastal beaches in southern Florida and the Caribbean. In late summer it bears a green fruit which ripens to a purplish color. The fruit itself contains a large pit that makes up most of the volume of the fruit.
